Get swept up in the romance as one of SMB’s most beloved ballets returns to the Riverview stage, Sunday, April 8th at 3:00pm. The classic tale of Cinderella is brought to life as an ordinary girl experiences one magical night, thanks to her Fairy Godmother and a pair of glass slippers! SMB’s Cinderella will have audiences swooning with gorgeous sets and costumes, Sergei Prokofiev’s well-loved music, and special guest Simon Wexler (formerly of American Ballet Theatre) as Prince Charming and SMB principal dancer Alexandra Zagzoug as Cinderella.

Tickets for SMB’s Cinderella range from $15 through $45 and are available HERE or by calling the SMB office at 318-221-8500. Tickets available at the door one hour prior to the performance.

SPECIAL EVENT: Cinderella Breakfast, Saturday, April 7th at The Petroleum Club

Make it a weekend of Cinderella and join us on Saturday, April 7th at The Petroleum Club for breakfast with Cinderella and other SMB dancers in full costume. Guests will enjoy a full breakfast, the opportunity to meet and mingle with members of the cast, and receive an SMB Cinderella mini-poster for autographs. Don’t miss the magic!

Minor Cast Auditions for SMB’s Cinderella

We’re holding open auditions for dancers ages 5 to 10 years old who want to perform with SMB this spring in our performance of Cinderella.

THE NUTCRACKER – Tickets On Sale Now!

Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet and the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra bring this holiday classic to life on the Riverview Theater stage December 9th and 10th.

The 40th anniversary performances of SMB’s The Nutcracker feature a cast of more than 100 local dancers led by Artistic Director Kendra Meiki, San Francisco Ballet principal dancers Dores Andre and Luke Ingham, and live music performed by The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra under the direction of SMB Music Director Kermit Poling.

The Meadows Museum of Art at Cententary College

SMB memberships provide patrons with exclusive ticket-purchasing priority for our productions, as well as ticket vouchers at most levels. Members can purchase tickets for all SMB 2017-2018 season performances beginning August 1, 2017 through October 1, 2017. Ticket sales for Fall for Dance and The Nutcracker open to non-members on August 7, 2017. Tickets sales for The Three Little Pigs & Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella open to the public the first week of December.

SMB Presents the Premiere of PETER PAN

Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet debuts the new ballet PETER PAN April 22 and 23 at Shreveport’s Riverview Theater! The performance features guest artist Simon Wexler of American Ballet Theatre (ABT) as Peter Pan and a cast of more than 75 local dancers!

Peter, Wendy, Tinkerbell, and all the characters from this classic tale are brought to life with imaginative new choreography by SMB Artistic Director Kendra Meiki, grand scenery, and enchanting new costumes.

SMB’s PETER PAN features a captivating score written by Kermit Poling and performed by The Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. This performance marks the mid-south premiere of Poling’s original score.

This magical production will take you to Neverland with dancers soaring above the Riverview stage thanks to Flying By Foy; the most prolific and widely-respected theatrical flying service in the world!

SMB’s PETER PAN opens Saturday, April 22^nd at 6:30pm, with an additional performance on Sunday, April 23rd at 3:00pm.  Performance tickets range in price from $15 through $45 and may be purchased online at http://www.shreveportmetroballet.org or by calling the SMB office at 318.221.8500.
